Description

Rusty, a house cat curious about life beyond his human home, leaves his comfortable life to join ThunderClan, a group of feral cats living in the forest according to the warrior code established by their ancestors. As the apprentice Firepaw, he must learn the ways of the clan while dealing with tensions from the rival ShadowClan, which threatens the safety of ThunderClan. The story follows Firepaw's training and his introduction to the complex social structure and loyalty among the cat clans.

Quick Summary

This book kicks off one of the longest-running middle grade series ever, where a pampered house cat trades his cozy windowsill for a dangerous world of feral clan warfare and ancient warrior codes. Kids will devour the political intrigue between ThunderClan and ShadowClan, the intense loyalty tests, and the thrill of watching a soft house kitten transform into a fierce fighter. If your kid loves the animal adventures and found-family dynamics of Animorphs or the magical world-building of Harry Potter, they'll be absolutely addicted to these clans. With an AR Level 5.6, this is perfect for fourth through seventh graders who want a long, addictive series to sink their claws into.
