About this book
In this classically-styled fairy tale, twelve forest creatures must rescue their crystallized mates while teaming up with the woodcarver Zac, his half-elf wife Ana, and their winged companion Pook to defeat the Blight-Spreader, whose greed for jewels is slowly killing the forest. The story incorporates clues and descriptions of valuable jewels hidden throughout the United States in an appendix. This middle-grade tale explores themes of family values and cooperation.
