Whalesinger

A scientific field trip on the California coast takes place near the possible site of a sunken treasure ship from Francis Drake's expedition. The story follows two teenagers who meet on this trip: an emotionally isolated boy and a girl who discovers she shares an empathic bond with two gray whales in the area. The novel combines elements of marine life, historical mystery, and the developing relationship between the two main characters.
