Fire in the Rock

Fire in the Rock by Joe Martin is set in the 1950s American South and follows two young men, Bo and Pollo, one white and one black, who grew up together in a small town. The boys enjoy an idyllic summer together until the Jim Crow laws and the small-mindedness of the era turn their world dark and violent. Years later, they are forced to confront their shared history in order to save their friendship.
