Hanging Woman Creek

The book is set in rugged Montana during a harsh winter. It follows Pronto Pike and his partner Eddie Holt, who are holed up in a line cabin waiting for their enemies to come. The conflict stems from a bitter standoff between a powerful rancher and a homesteading Irishman, involving missing cattle and overlaid brands. The men must defend themselves against those itching for a shootout.
