When Lightning Comes in a Jar

During a summer reunion at her grandmother's house, a young narrator experiences the familiar rhythms of family life home-cooked meals, a pickup baseball game, and a stack of old photographs. As night falls, the children chase the glowing fireflies that light up the yard, trying to catch their fleeting sparks in a jar. These simple, heartfelt moments together weave a nostalgic portrait of kinship and the small rituals that bind generations.
