The Renegades of Pern

The Renegades of Pern is set on the planet Pern, where deadly Thread falls from the sky and dragonriders protect the people living in Holds. The story follows Jayge, a trader who prefers freedom to the safety of the Holds, as he tries to stop The Lady Thella's renegades from capturing Aramina, a young woman whose telepathic link with dragons could help them evade the dragonrider patrols. The conflict centers on the struggle between the renegades seeking independence and those who want to maintain control over Pern's inhabitants.
