Description

As the wind turns crisp and the leaves on the Davis farm begin to turn, Bo the farm puppy can hardly contain his excitement to show off his brand-new sweater to all his barnyard friends. The busy squirrels and cool breezes signal that sweater weather has arrived, but an unexpected chill threatens to put a damper on Bo's plans. Using his keen puppy senses, Bo must find a way to stay warm and keep the celebration going for his animal companions. Book #9

Quick Summary

If you're looking for a sweet fall read-aloud for early readers, Bo the farm puppy is an absolute charmer there's something irresistibly silly about a pup so proud of his new sweater that he struts around the barnyard showing it off to everyone. Kids who love animals, funny friendship stories, or books about seasons will gravitate toward this one, and the short chapters make it a good fit for kids just starting to read on their own. It's cozy without being preachy, with enough humor to keep little ones giggling while still having a heartwarming message about sharing excitement with friends. Parents will appreciate that it's wholesome and simple, though if your kiddo is sensitive, there's nothing too scary here just a lot of adorable barnyard animals reacting to Bo's fashionable new look. This would pair nicely with other early reader series about farm animals, like the popular "Mercy Watson" books, though "Sweater Weather" has a more straightforward chapter book feel.
