Sincerely Sicily

Sicily Jordan, a Black Panamanian sixth-grader and aspiring fashionista, faces a challenging year when she transfers to a new school with no friends and is forced to wear a restrictive uniform. Throughout the story, Sicily navigates instances of prejudice and cultural bias both at school and at home while learning to embrace her identity and speak up for herself. The novel explores themes of racism, cultural identity, and self-acceptance through the eyes of a young Black Panamanian girl finding her voice.
