I Know a Scientist

"I Know a Scientist" presents the steps of the scientific method in a rhyming text set to the tune of "I Had a Little Turtle," following a young child who asks a question, makes a hypothesis, runs a simple experiment, and shares the results. The book's main character is a grade-school student who, with a small turtle companion, demonstrates how anyone can conduct inquiry in a familiar setting such as a classroom or backyard. The simple, illustrated narrative is designed for early readers (reading level 1.6) and introduces basic concepts of observation, hypothesis, testing, and communication.
