Quick Summary

For readers who love fantasy adventures with strong sibling bonds, "The Language of Ghosts" delivers a story that feels both classic and fresh. Three royal siblings Noa, Julian, and Mite find themselves exiled on a magical island, and what starts as a quest to reclaim Julian's stolen throne quickly becomes something deeper as they uncover long-buried magic and learn to work together in ways they never expected. The world-building is vivid without being overwhelming, and there's a nice balance of genuine danger and lighter moments that keep the pace moving. Parents should know there's some violence (nothing too graphic for middle graders, but present), and the emotional core of the story really centers on family loyalty and figuring out who you are outside of a crown. If your kid loved the mix of magic and heart in books like "The School for Good and Evil" or "Percy Jackson," this one hits a similar sweet spot for a slightly younger audience.
