The Hive

The book is set in a near-future where a social media system called the Hive has been implemented to police online behavior by allowing crowds to sanction people who receive too many "condemns" for their posts. Cassie McKinney, a high school senior whose father was a powerless hacker against online harassment, has always believed in the Hive's promise of a safer, fairer internet. When the system begins targeting people in her life, Cassie must confront the consequences of a community that can turn against someone in real life.
