About this book
Born in the Dominican Republic, Nelson Cruz fell in love with baseball playing sandlot games before eventually signing his first professional contract. The biography traces his journey from the minor leagues to becoming a power-hitting outfielder and designated hitter for several MLB teams, detailing the perseverance that fueled his rise. It also places his story within the larger history of Latino players in baseball, showing the obstacles he faced, the milestones he reached, and the influence he has had on the sport.
