Description

Eighth-grader Lisa Vega is the captain of the Dingoes basketball team, which has made it to the regional playoffs. Before their first game, their school gym is vandalized with the hoops, nets, and basketballs all destroyed, putting the playoffs in jeopardy. As captain, Lisa investigates who sabotaged their court and why.

Quick Summary

Lisa and her basketball teammates become junior detectives when someone trashes their court, turning the game they love into a mystery they must solve. Kids will cheer as the JV squad follows clues, sniffs out suspects, and learns that teamwork matters just as much off the court as on it. If your kid loves the fast-paced mysteries in Dan Gutman's "Baseball Card Adventures" or the sports-plus-suspense combo in Mike Lupica's games, they'll be hooked from the first page. Perfect for fourth through seventh graders who enjoy quick reads with equal parts basketball action and whodunit fun.
