Quick Summary
If your kid is obsessed with Frozen (and let's be real, most kids go through that phase), this is a great early reader that actually feels like a "real" chapter book rather than a simplified picture book retelling. The story follows Anna and Elsa as they finally get to explore Arendelle with the gates open, and what I love is how it captures Anna's bubbly, outgoing personality perfectly she's basically bouncing off the walls excited to meet everyone, while Elsa figures out how to use her powers to actually help the townspeople. It's sweet and has that sisterly warmth without being overly mushy. One thing to note: there are a few moments where Elsa's magic causes some minor chaos, so if your little one is sensitive to anything slightly tense, maybe preview first. At around 10,000 words with a 4.1 AR level, it's perfect for kids transitioning from picture books to chapter books who still want something with lots of Frozen charm. If they devour this and want more, the rest of the series continues their adventures in Arendelle.
