About this book
The Button War is about Patryk, a boy living in a small Polish village during World War I, who and his friends pass the time by daring each other with buttons as the stakes. When a simple dare spins out of control, the line between the boys' game and the real war raging around them becomes dangerously blurred. The story depicts how the violence of the adult world infiltrates the children's game with tragic consequences.
