Among the Barons

Among the Barons is about Luke Garner, an illegal third child who spent his first twelve years in hiding before assuming the identity of Lee Grant to live at the Hendricks School for Boys. When Lee's younger brother Smits arrives at the school, Luke finds himself entangled in a web of lies while questioning whether he can trust Smits and Smits's intimidating bodyguard Oscar. The book is set in a future society where families are permitted only two children, making Luke's existence both dangerous and illegal.
