Quick Summary

If your kid's eyes light up at the mention of a dinosaur, this 332-word early reader will have them grinning from the first page. Josh cracks open a suspiciously large egg at breakfast and out pops a tiny, hungry T.-rex that turns his kitchen into a series of goofy, messy adventures. The humor is gentle but punchy think spilled milk, a dinosaur that thinks everything is a snack, and a few loud roars making it a hit for kids who love silly, fast-paced stories. Parents will appreciate that the stakes stay low, the tone stays upbeat, and the book slips in a couple of dinosaur facts about size and appetite, giving a tiny educational boost without slowing the pace. With an AR level of 1.4 and only half a point, it's a great stepping stone for early readers, and even reluctant readers can blaze through the whole thing in one sitting.
