Lucy Doesn't Wear Pink

Eleven-year-old Lucy is a tomboy who loves playing soccer and caring for her father, who was blinded by a bomb that killed her mother. When a new teacher takes over her playground soccer games and a housekeeper named Inez assumes her chores while teaching Bible lessons, Lucy begins losing control. The story is set in a contemporary middle school environment and explores themes of family responsibility, identity, and change.
