Noble is a knight in a computer game who believes his destiny is to defeat the bad guys and win the heart of a beautiful princess. When a new character named Rufus arrives and challenges the game's rules, suggesting negotiation instead of combat, Noble's understanding of his purpose is disrupted. The story explores what happens when a video game character begins to question the very nature of his programmed existence.
