Borderland

Borderland follows a group of teenagers who enter a portal to a parallel world called Shattershard. The main characters are Zoe, a newcomer trying to understand the motives of her friends, Alex, who uses his interest in war games to help them survive, and Morgan, whose dark clothes mark her as a magic maker. In this alternate realm each teen takes on a distinct role that influences the unfolding conflict, and Zoe must navigate the dangers while trying to keep the group from causing further havoc. The novel is the first installment of a trilogy aimed at middle grade readers.
