About this book
Magic Fire is a novel about Mark Charm, a senior in high school who is a pyromaniac. As his obsession with fire grows, he escalates his arsons beyond personal fantasies to a citywide scale, and on a dry autumn night he begins to wonder what it would be like if the whole city burned. Ultimately, his thoughts turn to the even broader idea of setting fire to the entire state of California.
