About this book
Eleven-year-old Rob Horton lives with his father in a small Florida town, where he copes with his mother's death by wood-carving. He befriends the new girl at school, the angry and independent Sistine, and together they discover a caged tiger behind a local motel. The two children then plan to free the tiger, an act that forces them to confront their own grief and loneliness.
