About this book
Ten-year-old India Opal Buloni brings home a scruffy dog named Winn-Dixie from the local supermarket in the small town of Naomi, Florida, during one summer. The dog helps her make friends in her new neighborhood and gives her the courage to ask her father about her mother, who left when Opal was three years old. Through her friendship with Winn-Dixie, Opal learns about forgiveness, loneliness, and finding companionship.
