Jungle Dogs

Set in Hawaii, this middle-grade story follows Boy Regis, a sixth-grader who must deliver his paper route while dealing with rumors of savage wild dogs roaming the jungle nearby. At home, his older brother Damon constantly intervenes to protect him, and Boy Regis is determined to prove he can stand up for himself. As he faces both the imagined danger in the jungle and his brother's overprotectiveness, the novel explores his struggle for independence and the tension it creates within his family.
