Trapped Between the Lash and the Gun

Twelve-year-old Jordan is on the verge of joining a street gang when he is suddenly transported back in time to the nineteenth century, where he becomes a slave on the plantation of his ancestors. Through this time travel, Jordan experiences the harsh realities of slavery, including the constant threat of the whip. The novel explores the difficult choices Jordan faces as he witnesses the struggles of his ancestors while grappling with his own troubled present.
