Description

Toby the tow truck tries to free a cow that has become stuck in a muddy ditch, but his own wheels sink in the muck. With the help of his friend B.J. and the farmer, they add straw under Toby's wheels to give him traction, allowing him to pull the cow to safety. The simple, illustrated story follows the teamwork and problem-solving of the three characters as they work together to rescue the animal. It is an early-reader book aimed at young children, featuring short sentences and a clear narrative about persistence and cooperation.

Quick Summary

If your kid loves vehicles or stories where machines save the day, Toby and B.J. is a quick, satisfying pick. Toby the tow truck is the star, and he gets to do what tow trucks do best lend a helping hand when someone is stuck. In this case, he's called on to rescue a farmer's cow that's ended up in a ditch, and watching Toby figure out how to get the big animal back to safety is the kind of simple, satisfying problem-solving kids really enjoy. It's short enough for early readers to tackle on their own, but the silly farm situation gives it enough personality that it doesn't feel like a chore. Parents will appreciate that it's wholesome and focused on helping others, while kids just get a fun little adventure with a friendly truck hero. If your child liked other vehicle-themed early readers, this one fits right in.
