Description

"Night of the Undead Frogs" by Katie Schenkel is a middle grades horror story about Billy, a student who looks forward to doing frog dissections at school but gets in trouble for his disrespectful behavior toward his teacher, resulting in detention. As punishment, Billy is given an alternate lab assignment instead of participating in the dissection. Seeking revenge, he sneaks back to school at night, only to discover that the dissected frogs have come back to life and are now seeking revenge on him. The book is set primarily at school, during a nighttime setting.

Quick Summary

The title "Night of the Undead Frogs" promises spooky, gross fun, and the premise of a kid getting in trouble for being too rowdy about dissections is instantly relatable and hilarious. Kids will giggle at Billy's slimy situation and the delightfully disturbing pictures that make this feel like a Halloween treat. If your kid likes the silly scares of "Goosebumps" or the gross humor of "Diary of a Minecraft Creeper: Creeper Life a Minecraft Creeper: Creeper Life Wimpy Kid," they'll hop right into this. Perfect for grades 3-5 readers who want a quick, funny, slightly creepy adventure.
