Description
The Great Escape by Philip and Gillian tells the story of Indian immigrants who were lured to the United States and trapped in forced labor. The narrative follows Saket Soni, a twenty-eight-year-old Indian-born community organizer, who receives an anonymous phone call in late 2006 from an Indian migrant worker in Mississippi. Through Soni's efforts, the immigrants are rescued from their situation and guided toward citizenship. The book is based on true events and highlights issues of labor exploitation and immigration.
