Description

Best friends Molly and Beth discover a mysterious doorway that transports them back to 1984, where nothing works like it does today not even their mobile phones. When Beth realizes her mother, who passed away when she was young, is alive in this era, she must decide whether to search for her. The girls face the challenge of navigating an unfamiliar world while trying to find a way back home before anyone notices they're gone. This time-travel adventure explores friendship and family across two different decades.

Quick Summary

If you're looking for a time travel adventure that actually tugs at your heartstrings, this is it. Two best friends stumble through a mysterious doorway and land in 1984, which means Beth has a shot at seeing her mum again the mum she lost when she was little. What starts as an exciting adventure through a totally different era quickly becomes an emotional journey about grief, family, and what you'd risk to change the past. Kids who enjoy stories like "A Wrinkle in Time" or anyone who's ever wished they could see someone they've lost again will connect with this one. It's got plenty of action and some genuinely funny moments as they figure out how to blend in with kids from the 80s, but it also knows when to slow down and let the sad stuff breathe. Parents will appreciate that it handles loss in a way that's honest without being heavy-handed, making it a great conversation starter about hard topics. Book #1 in what looks like a promising series.
