Description

Mike Evans and his best friend Shannon travel to Australia after learning that the villainous Mr. Bones has reawakened an Allosaurus and plans to create an army of living dinosaurs for profit. The two friends must locate Mr. Bones, outwit his scheme, and prevent any more dinosaur skeletons from being brought back to life. This adventure, aimed at early elementary readers, is the sixth book in the Dino-Mike series.

Quick Summary

If your kid is nuts about dinosaurs, Dino-Mike and the Dinosaur Cove is a fast-paced, goofy adventure that mixes prehistoric facts with plenty of kid-friendly humor. Mike and his best friend Shannon stumble onto a secret underground lab where the scheming Mr Bones is trying to re-animate dinosaurs, and they have to outwit him before his dino army takes over. Short chapters and simple black-and-white illustrations keep the pages turning even for reluctant readers, while the light-hearted tone means there's just enough tension to make it exciting nothing too scary. It's a great fit for early readers who love action, mystery, and a dash of silliness, and it works equally well as a read-alone or a read-aloud for younger kids. If your child enjoys books like the Magic Tree House series or any of the "I Survived" titles, they'll likely feel right at home in Mike's dino-filled world.
