Quick Summary

If you want a book that'll make your kid laugh out loud, this is a solid choice. Jeremy Strong has this knack for writing stories that feel completely ridiculous but somehow work perfectly think of it as a British version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid humor. Batpants the orangutan trying to solve an elephant kidnapping is exactly the kind of silly premise that hooks middle-grade readers, especially ones who might be reluctant readers or just want something fun and fast-paced. There's some mild suspense when Fudge goes missing, but nothing too scary it's more spy-adventure comedy than anything genuinely tense. Kids who enjoy humor, animals doing human things, or caper stories will likely devour this. If your child liked "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" or "The Bad Guys," they'd probably get a kick out of this too.
