Description

Jamie and Tom return to the dinosaur world and discover a baby Ankylosaurus stuck in thick mud, unable to free itself. The boys must act quickly to rescue the young dinosaur before it's pulled under, but their plan is complicated when the massive mother Ankylosaurus arrives, swinging her powerful clubbed tail. As the tension builds, the two friends use ingenuity and courage to save the baby while trying to avoid the protective parent's wrath.

Quick Summary

Jamie and Tom slip back into Dino World and find a baby Ankylosaurus stuck fast in thick mud, and the boys spend the chapter brainstorming clever ways to pry it loose before the mud wins. Their teamwork turns the rescue into a mini-puzzle, and the tension ramps up when the huge mother Ankylosaurus appears but the story resolves with a warm reminder that a mom's first instinct is to protect, not to attack. It's a quick, 4-point read that gives early readers a fun dinosaur fix while sneaking in a gentle lesson about empathy and problem-solving. Kids who love dinos, especially fans of short time-travel adventures like the Magic Tree House series, will feel right at home, and parents will appreciate the light humor and the lack of scary violence. If your child enjoyed "Dinosaurs Before Dark," they'll likely love this one too.
