Quick Summary

If you want a middle-grade adventure that'll keep kids turning pages without even noticing they've read 300+ pages, this one's for you. Sam teams up with Zara and Ben two kids who are already at the adventure when he arrives and they've got an impossible deadline: three days to track down six professors kidnapped by the villainous Professor Murdo before something terrible happens. Fardell packs this with chase scenes, close calls, and plenty of moments that make you laugh out loud, especially once you get a sense of who these characters are under pressure. It's exciting enough to hook reluctant readers, but there's also real heart here when the kids realize they have to work together and trust each other, even when things look hopeless. Parents will appreciate that it's genuinely funny in places, with a villain who's more cartoonishly menacing than truly scary, though very young readers might still feel the tension during some of the tighter spots. If your kid loved "The Famous Five" adventures or any classic British kids'-against-bad-guys stories, they'll eat this up it's got that same spirit of ordinary kids being brave and clever when it counts.
