Talking Pictures

Talking Pictures is a tale in the Jumbo Jets series that mixes words and pictures for slightly older readers ready for a longer story. It follows ten-year-old Talitha Augusta Fortescue Fitz-Rowland, a wealthy girl living in 1860 who is terribly lonely. When she discovers pictures that seem to speak to her, she finds a way to share her feelings and connect with the world around her. The story uses words and pictures to show how visual communication can help a lonely child feel less alone.
