Courageous: A Novel of Dunkirk

The book follows Aiden, a young boy who has been afraid of the ocean since his brother's ship was sunk by German forces during World War II. When British soldiers become stranded at Dunkirk and civilian boats are called upon to help with the evacuation, Aiden must face his fears. The story takes place during the real historical evacuation of Allied forces from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940, as Aiden and his father join other civilian boat owners in answering the call to aid in the rescue effort.
