Description

When a new horse arrives at Pine Hollow with a puzzling health problem, the members of The Saddle Club must figure out what's wrong before the animal can be helped. At the same time, Stevie's grandmother comes for a visit, prompting the family to try keeping their best behavior while dealing with her unexpected love of chaos. The story follows the friends as they balance caring for the demanding horse and navigating the mix of family expectations and humor.

Quick Summary

For anyone who's ever dreamed of owning a horse but also enjoys the camaraderie of a club, this story hits the sweet spot. The Saddle Club's two projects helping Brittney find the perfect horse and dealing with the mischievous, high-maintenance Magoo keep the plot moving with a blend of humor, friendship challenges, and a few nail-biting moments when Magoo's antics get a little risky. Kids who love animals, especially horses, will get a kick out of the way the characters problem-solve and learn to be patient, while the middle-grade audience will relate to the everyday drama of balancing school, friends, and a demanding horse. There's a light-hearted tone that never gets too dark, making it a good fit for younger readers who might be a bit sensitive, though some scenes have a bit of tension when the horse gets into trouble. If you've ever read anything from the Saddle Club series, you'll notice the same warm, encouraging vibe, and readers who enjoy books like "The Horse Whisperer" for kids will find this a fun, approachable pick.
