Description

Twelve-year-old Clara, still grieving the death of her adopted sister Lola, discovers a desperate note hidden in a purse at Bellman's department store. The note was written by Yuming, a thirteen-year-old Chinese girl who has been forced to work sewing in a factory outside of Beijing. As Clara becomes determined to find Yuming and respond to her plea for help, the two girls form an unexpected connection across continents, sharing their experiences of loss, hope, and longing.
