Description

Billie and the Secret Mystery Club have been called upon by their school principal for an important mission. A time capsule was hidden somewhere in the school many years ago, and now it's up to the SMC to track it down. The group must search through the school, following clues and working together to solve this long-standing mystery before they can uncover the hidden treasure.

Quick Summary

If your kid loves a good puzzle, they'll probably get a kick out of this quick school mystery where a group of friends forms the SMC to hunt for a lost time capsule hidden somewhere in their building. The story is light-hearted and full of silly red-herings that make the clues feel like a game rather than a puzzle that's too hard, and the short chapters keep the pace moving so even reluctant readers can finish it in a couple of sittings. It's a great pick for kids who enjoy the Cam Jansen series or any of the "solve-the-case" books, because the mystery is straightforward enough to follow but still has a satisfying "aha" moment at the end. Parents will appreciate that there's no scary content, just a bit of harmless suspense and the fun of watching the kids work as a team, and the book subtly encourages problem-solving and teamwork without being preachy. Overall, it's a breezy, fun adventure that shows how a group of ordinary kids can turn a simple school mystery into an exciting treasure hunt.
