The Scions of Shannara

Set in the Four Lands years after the death of the Druid Allanon, the novel follows Par Ohmsford, who possesses the magical Wishsong gift inherited from his grandfather Shea. When Par accidentally awakens a mythic horror, the mysterious Cogline appears to banish the creature and delivers Allanon's final message: Par and the other Scions of Shannara must journey to the Hadeshorn to prevent the total destruction of all life in the Four Lands. With magic forbidden in the totalitarian Southland, Par must join forces with the other heirs of the legendary Shannara bloodline to undertake this perilous quest.
