Description

The talented young musician Orpheus loses his bride Eurydice on their wedding night when she is killed in a terrible accident. Armed only with his lyre, Orpheus travels to the Underworld, a realm where no mortal has ever gone before, determined to bring his wife back to life. This graphic novel retells the classic Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Quick Summary

Pommaux reinvents the ancient Greek myth with a musical hero who literally rocks the Underworld, turning a tragic tale into a toe-tapping adventure. Kids will gasp at clever encounters with the bloodhound of hell, laugh at smug gods getting outwitted, and hold their breath during the ultimate test of trust. If your kid loves the laugh-out-loud humor and mythological mashups of the "Percy Jackson" series, they'll be totally smitten with this heroic jam session. Perfect for curious readers ages 8-11 in grades 4-6 who dream of playlists powerful enough to bend the rules of death.
