Description
The book tells the true story of Jan and Antonina Zabinski, who managed the Warsaw Zoo in Poland during World War II. When the Nazis invaded Warsaw, the Zabinskis used their zoo grounds to hide and protect approximately three hundred Polish Jews from persecution. The book describes how they risked their own lives to shelter refugees alongside the animals until the war ended.
