Splish, Splat!

In this illustrated story, Colin asks his mother to paint his bedroom, and she hires two deaf painters named Heather and Molly to change the color from yellow to navy blue. The two painters become so absorbed in conversing with each other through sign language that they accidentally splatter white dots across the freshly painted navy walls. The story is set in Colin's home and is written at a lower elementary reading level.
