The Best of Me

The novel follows Amanda Collier and Dawson Cole, former high school sweethearts from opposite sides of the tracks in a small North Carolina town, who fell deeply in love in 1984 when they were eighteen years old. Years later, now middle-aged and living separate lives, they are called back to their hometown for the funeral of the mentor who once provided them shelter. Together again, they are forced to confront the painful truths of their past and the choices each has made since parting ways.
