Series Dessert

Description

Dessert, a third-grader with a taste for adventure, gets the idea to start a secret club after learning about the American Revolution in Mrs. Howdy Doody's class. Inspired by the colonists' fight for independence, she and her friends try to stand up to the annoying antics of their siblings. Their plan, however, quickly spirals out of control, leading to more trouble than they bargained for. The story follows the misadventures of Dessert and her club as they learn that not every battle can be won with a clever scheme.

Quick Summary

If you've ever felt like your brother or sister was the biggest nuisance in your life, Dessert's story will feel like a mirror her third-grade imagination gets a boost from a class lesson about the American Revolution, and she decides to start a secret club with her friends to "fight back" against annoying siblings, only to watch the plan spiral into hilariously chaotic mishaps. Kids who love goofy school drama and don't mind a little messy mischief will find plenty to laugh at, especially when Dessert's big ideas backfire in unexpected ways. Parents will appreciate that the book sneaks in a bit of history without turning into a lecture, and the tone stays lighthearted even when the sibling rivalry gets a bit heated. It's a quick, fun read for early chapter-book readers who enjoy books like *My Weird School* or *The Adventures of the Badger*, and the funny mishaps make it easy to see why kids will be eager to see what Dessert gets into next in the series.
