Description

After losing a tae kwon do tournament, Jinho loses control and breaks his opponent's fingers, getting barred from his dojang. He is then recruited by Austin to fight in an underground mixed martial arts club where there are no rules or regulations. As Jinho becomes more involved in the dangerous world of underground fighting, he finds it increasingly disturbing and struggles to find a way out. The book follows Jinho as he faces the opponent known as the Ripper while dealing with the consequences of his actions.

Quick Summary

Jinho trades his dojo for an underground fight club where the rules are broken and the opponents are brutal, creating a story that feels like a martial arts movie jumping off the screen. Kids will love the high-stakes showdowns, especially the jaw-dropping moment when Jinho must face the Ripper, a fighter whose reputation alone sends chills through the entire club. If your kid devours intense sports stories with real heart like Mike Lupica's Heat or dreams of martial arts battles, Flying Feet delivers that same pulse-pounding excitement. This book is a perfect match for kids ages 9-13 in grades 4-7 who want action that tests characters physically and emotionally.
