Traveling by dragonfly caravan over the Sayash Mountains, she is pursued by devils and must complete her sacred duty despite the danger. During the journey she teams up with a young mercenary who carries an ancient scimitar and hides secrets of his own. As they battle fierce foes and navigate treacherous terrain, they race to stop a looming threat that could unravel the very fabric of the world.

Quick Summary

Full of daring escapes and ancient mysteries, Silksinger drops readers right into a world where faeries ride dragonflies over misty mountains and devilish hunters are never far behind. Whisper Silksinger is a fierce warrior-faerie who teams up with a scrappy young mercenary carrying a legendary scimitar, and together they race across the Sayash Mountains on a caravan that feels like a magical mix of a road trip and a battlefield. Kids who love fast-paced fantasy with strong characters and a hint of danger will find plenty to love here, especially those who enjoyed the adventure-packed pages of Percy Jackson or the mythical settings of The School for Good and Evil. The violence is present but never gratuitous just enough to keep the tension high without overwhelming younger readers, making it a good fit for kids who want excitement without becoming too dark. While it's the second book in the series, the story weaves enough context that new readers can jump in, though fans of the first installment will catch extra layers of backstory. If your child is looking for a sequel that builds on the first book's world while delivering fresh thrills and a duo they can root for, this one's a solid pick.
