City Boy

Set in contemporary Malawi, "City Boy" follows Sam, an orphaned boy whose mother has died from AIDS. Sam is claimed by his aunt Mercy and sent to live in the small rural village where his mother was born and raised. He must adjust from his former city life having his own room, attending private school, and using a computer to sharing a dirt-floored one-room hut with his aunt and cousins. The story portrays Sam's transition and the cultural differences between his urban and rural life.
