Breakfast in the Rainforest: A Visit with Mountain Gorillas

In this book for middle grade readers, photographer Richard Sobol travels to the rainforests of Uganda's national parks to observe and document African mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The book presents the characteristics and behavior of these endangered animals while exploring the reasons they are threatened with extinction and the conservation efforts being made to protect them. Through text and photographs, Sobol provides readers with a close-up look at gorillas in the wild, including scenes of them eating their morning meal of leaves.
