About this book
The book tells the story of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who led an expedition in 1519 to find a western route to the Spice Islands. Magellan and his crew of five ships faced many challenges, including storms, shortages of food and water, and rebellion among the men. Although Magellan was killed in battle before the voyage ended, one of his ships eventually completed the first circumnavigation of the globe, returning to Spain.
